Fresh Direct

“Did it for the gram !”, then uploaded to my blog. Took this photo while setting up a live demo for Anne Burelle. The Camera crew all glanced at me in confusion. Why would I pull my iPhone and lift my hand over my head for a bird-eyes view, for a couple veggies. Well because I was proud of my work. I washed each cherry tomato, scrubbed that lemon clean of any dirt and didn’t forget the sticker, careful peeled the skin of the red onion to reveal its pretty red flesh, and sprits every leave in that bouquet of basil with water. We all know basil tends to get sad looking when its not hydrated. And then all of my veggies were ready for show time, but not before I snapped a picture for my own personal use.

Im seriously so excited about my newest job. I finally feel like I’ve reached a place where I can explore my culinary creativity while making a living. All the jobs that I’ve had in the past seriously prepared me for this one. From the gruesome work at restaurants, to the internships at culinary production companies. I’ve learned the basics and have really tested my skills at this new position. I’m now, a food styling asst. at See Food Media, this amazing kitchen studio in the Lower East Side. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity and looking forward to fine tuning my passion for food.
