Drawing a blank at the grocery store?
We all have those moments when we feel like we can not produce anything exciting for our tastebuds from what we already have in our fridge or pantry. So we take a trip to the grocery store to stock up on all the foods we like. It all becomes a routine of buying all the things you have run out of, and chances are you don't do anything exciting with them.
This next tip is going to help guide you when you take time out of your day to walk, bike, drive to your nearest grocery store, to get the most out of your visit.
First things first food shopping is much like clothing shopping ! Don't think I'm crazy as of yet. When your in the market you should be picking up items that compliment things you already have at home or than are currently in your basket.
You can make warm salads, cold salads, or dinner sides with grains. Check out the grains, such as quinoa, farrow, etc. You can do do much with them, cook a few cups of quinoa at the start of the week and get creative through out the week. Not only are they a way healthier option then rice they have more nutritional value to offer you and they cook in the fraction of the time.
Here I decided to make a Mexican inspired grilled corn and black bean salad. I made some guacamole a few days earlier and still had some cilantro, jalpenos I wanted to utilize. I also added some white onions and lime juice that I almost always have in house. In the bowl I made a non fat plain yogurt sauce to drizzle over my salad.
